The Alpaca Centre is situated near Penrith, 1.5 miles away from junction 40 on the M6.

The Alpaca Centre is a working farm involved in breeding, rearing and selling Alpacas. Find out about the history of the Alpaca, how it first arrived in the UK and how its fibre is used by many designers today.

Other attractions at the centre include a shop selling products made of Alpaca fibre - gloves, scarves, hats, jumpers, coats etc. The 'Just Wood Gallery' presents a collection of wooden products.

There is also a tearoom on site boasting the best coffee in Lakeland.

Admission is free. Groups are welcome all year around.

Open 10.00am-5.00pm daily. Closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day.
