A long standing favourite amongst Ambleside fraternity, the Apple Pie Eating house is a purveyor of fine cakes, slices and of course Cumbrian Apple Pies. Located close to the Ambleside Bridge house which aptly was used to store apples in the past, this cafe is busy and rightly so. The food is good wholesome and fresh, the atmosphere is hectic.They have a variety of seating areas both indoors and outside in a more relaxed courtyard. The cafe is conveniently located at the north end of the village as you head for Grasmere. There are ground floor toilets so great for disabled visitors.
