Appleby Castle

Appleby Castle overlooks the town of Appleby-in-Westmorland and the River Eden. The Castle is a 12th-Century Norman Keep and a 17th-Century great Hall, bedroom and dining room.

Deep in the heart of the Eden Valley, the castle is surrounded by 25 acres of parkland.

In the grounds are beautiful walks with a wide variety of rare breeds of sheep, goats, pheasants, hens, doves, ducks, geese and teals.

The castle is not currently open to the public and is situated in Appleby-in-Westmorland off the A66.
