This stunning winding valley has something for everyone. A world class scenic drive, classic climbing, excellent pubs and first class lakeland walks. Discover a series of picture postcard villages as you wind along small dry stone wall lined roads surrounded by high lakeland fells such as Catbells. The valley has some of the best climbing in the region, including Shepherds Crag.
Half way along Borrowdale Valley can be found the Bowder Stone, a huge lump of rock dumped by the glacier which carved the valley in the last ice age. For a leisurely view of Borrowdale why not take the Derwent Water Launch adjacent to Theatre by the Lake, or a bus from Kessick up the valley. For a superb view right down Borrowdale head to the top of Walla Crag.
