Trotters World of Animals - Bassenthwaite Keswick Lake District Cumbria
We have just been to Trotters World of Animals near Keswick and had a fantastic day. Located at the top end of Bassenthwaite Lake north of Keswick, this superb animal attraction will keep your toddler or younger children amused for hours. The large parkland grounds are surrounded by an impressive backdrop of woodland and Lakeland Fells such as Skiddaw.
Duckys Park Farm
Farm visitor attraction where you get a fantastic opportunity to meet a variety of farm animals. Great place for kids of all ages with a soft play centre with separate toddler area, farm trail and mini go carts and a cafe.
Hay Close Maize Maze
A fabulous day out for the family Hay Close Maize Maze near Penrith combines 3 Maize Mazes which are of various difficulties with an adventure playground, crazy golf, swing slide and climb play area and a superb cafe. Well set up for children set in a peaceful rural location this is a great place to hang out and spend the day!
Go Ape!
A high level adventure assault course using rope walkways, high wires and swings to traverse the roof canopy of the forest. An exhillerating day out for adults and children alike. Hugely popular and booking is essential.

High Head Sculpture Park
Located just outside Penrith this sculpture trail featuring the works of local artist Jonathan Stamper is a popular venue for Cumbrian contemporary artist to display their works. Enjoy exploring the trail or sneak a slice of cake at the cafe,admire art, craft, jewellery and items of quirky furniture in the gallery. Dont forget to look at the farm shop too! High Head gallery and cafe are ideal for the less able as there is easy access and there are good dissabled facilities.
Taffy Thomas Story Telling Garden
Taffy has a repertoire of more than 300 stories, tales and elaborate lies collected mainly from traditional oral sources, which he is happy to tell in almost any situation. He is now the most experienced English storyteller, having pioneered many storytelling residencies and appeared at the National Storytelling Festival in the USA and the Bergen Arts Festival in Norway.
