Langwathby Scarecrow festvial has to be amongst the best in the country. It seems that everyone in the village is competing against one another for the best scarecrow. Expect a highly imaginative array of scarecrows to meet you around every nook and cranny of the village. An excellent day out and great for children. Thoroughly recommended. A great opportunity to be drawn to a fascinating and less explored region of Cumbria.

Coniston Water Festival, Coniston

The festival is a week long series of events centered on Coniston Water and the valley, with a boat dressing and water parade as one of the centre pieces of the festival. This years Festival will take the best and most successful elements of old and add some new events centered on creativity and enjoyment.

Staveley Carnival (bienial)

Staveley Carnival Community Arts Project is a festival of art and colour! A fantastic fusion of community arts, music, drumming, dance, puppetry, performance and carnival. The project runs biennially (every other year!) and encompasses a two-month workshop program culminating in a weekend of carnival festivities.

Cockermouth Georgian Festival

Celebrating the Georgian history of Cockermouth, the festival is a special market held in the main street. Residents and visitors are encouraged to dress in Georgian style costumes. A variety of attractions inclduing an old style fairground and traditional dancing, local food, Circus skills workshops, redcoat military re-enactment, sedan chair racing and costume parade.
