Blackwell House
Blackwell Houses is a shining example of Arts and Crafts movement an its architecture from the 1900. Blackwell is significant architecturally since it marks the transition between Victorian and modern architectural styles.
Renovated and restored to its former glory during 2000 - 2001 by the Lakeland Arts trust. It is situated above the shores of Windermere affording superb views across to the Lake District fells.
Throughout the building you can enjoy both the pristine architecture and exhibitions of fine and applied arts.
High Head Sculpture Park
Located just outside Penrith this sculpture trail featuring the works of local artist Jonathan Stamper is a popular venue for Cumbrian contemporary artist to display their works. Enjoy exploring the trail or sneak a slice of cake at the cafe,admire art, craft, jewellery and items of quirky furniture in the gallery. Dont forget to look at the farm shop too! High Head gallery and cafe are ideal for the less able as there is easy access and there are good dissabled facilities.
