Set in a converted barn with some seating on the ground floor for disabled access. The main cafe upstairs is set in a superb converted barn.

Good home made cakes, flapjacks and scones served in a bright warm atmosphere with waitress service. High chairs are available. Full range of fresh sandwiches and light lunches.

If you have kids this cafe should be a hit. There is a superb little play area which is gated plus high chairs available. Simple bar menu and not too far out of town. More child friendly than the Warehouse Film Cafe. There is a baby change in the adjacent ladies toilets.

A wildly different cafe experience to the average Cumbrian tea shop. Moody low lighting, oversized leather armchairs and ornate baroque sofas. Expect a relaxing time with groovy music and ever so good coffee. A real find, the perfect escape from the hubub of Kendals high street. Highly recomended.

If you have kids, the intro cafe in the main brewery buildings is far more suitable.

No. 15 is one of those unexpected gems which once discovered is likely to become an instant favourite. Worth coming to Penrith for especially. This wonderful place will appeal to those who pine for a little space to chill with relaxing contemporary music, freshly made food, newspapers to browse and very good bubbly attentive service. A refreshing mix of modern styling and subtle attention to detail are what this cafe is all about to me. Choose from comfy bean bags, leather sofas or regular seating, there are high chairs and toys for the kids, and a doggy bowl at the door.

Unspoilt Grasmere is a popular Lakeland village which is famous for its Gingerbread, Heaton Cooper Studios, Wordsworth and the annual Grasmere Sports. The village has an array of small touristy shops and some excellent cafes and restaurants. Grasmere is an excellent base for exploring the whole of Cumbria and is a quieter alternative to nearby Ambleside. Grasmere Village is particularly stunning in Autumn since it is surrounded by a canopy of deciduous trees. >
