Hesketh Newmarket

Hesketh Newmarket is a quaint little Eden village with real heart. This tiny place has a real community feel and a warmth of charater which will appeal to anyone wishing to enjoy some peace and quiet away from the usual trappings of the tourist centres.

The charming little tea rooms which has a toilet down the street, the ancient pub which is owned by the villagers and serves beer which is brewed in the back yard make this place a wonderful experience to visit. Prince Charles has a fondness with Hesketh Newmarket, I can see why.

Elterwater

Idyllic village set amongst some of the most quintisential lakeland scenery with the Langdale Pikes making an impressive backdrop. Home to one of my favourite pubs, The Brittania Inn, and an excellent base for exploring Langdale valley, Coniston and Ambleside without having to be amongst the crowds.

Judy Boyes, local water colour atrist, also has a really nice studio in the village which features many of her original art works and has fine art reproductions and prints for sale.

"I am not the only one to have a love affair with the romantic tale attached to this pub. Prince Charles has visited the hostelry no less than three times. During a recent 2 hour visit he enjoyed the excellent brews which are created behind the pub in the Hesket Newmarket Brewery and won a game of darts.
