Troutbeck
A small ssettlement just a short way up the Kirkstone Pass Troubeck is set on a hillside overlooking High Street (fell). It is ideal for those wanting a base which is peaceful with a great pub, but close enough to the major centres to enjoy them and then escape. There are two good pubs in the village and a very small post office.
Grasmere
Unspoilt Grasmere is a popular Lakeland village which is famous for its Gingerbread, Heaton Cooper Studios, Wordsworth and the annual Grasmere Sports. The village has an array of small touristy shops and some excellent cafes and restaurants. Grasmere is an excellent base for exploring the whole of Cumbria and is a quieter alternative to nearby Ambleside. Grasmere Village is particularly stunning in Autumn since it is surrounded by a canopy of deciduous trees. >
Keswick Launch
