Newby Bridge

Newby Bridge appeals to people wanting to be close to Windereme Lake but not caught up in the hustle of towns like Bowness. It offers easy access to the water and Grizedale Forest is a short drive away. It is also ideal as a bas for exploring the southern side of Cumbria and has excellent road connections to the M6 from the south.

Ravenglass

Ravenglass is a coastal village on the western side of Cumbria and is just beyond the end of Eskdale. It is perhaps most well known as the terminus for the Ravenglass and Eskdale narrow guage railway which meanders up Eskdale valley.

The village is quite small and relatively undeveloped. Just beyond the outskirts of the village in Muncaster Castle which is very worthy of a visit. It is famous for the Owl Centre.
