Kendal
Kendal is situated to the South of The Lake District, about 10 miles from Windermere and not far from junction 36 of the M6 motorway. This ancient town consists of a network of tiny cobbled streets and "ginnels" which are great fun to explore.
Keswick
Keswick has become the main centre for tourism in the North Lakes. It is a pretty market town which offers a wide variety of attractions and facilities. Keswick is situated between Skiddaw and Derwentwater. There are plenty of low level walks suitable for families with young children, cruises on Derwent Water and several good museums.
