Grasmere church is perhaps best known because it is the final resting place of William Wordsworth and his family. With a fine backdrop of lakeland fells and strong connections to the family this is a very fitting final resting place for one of Englands most well known poets.

Grasmere

Unspoilt Grasmere is a popular Lakeland village which is famous for its Gingerbread, Heaton Cooper Studios, Wordsworth and the annual Grasmere Sports. The village has an array of small touristy shops and some excellent cafes and restaurants. Grasmere is an excellent base for exploring the whole of Cumbria and is a quieter alternative to nearby Ambleside. Grasmere Village is particularly stunning in Autumn since it is surrounded by a canopy of deciduous trees. >
