Chapel Stile
Chapel Stile is a picturesque village approximately 4 miles from Ambleside set in the Langdale Valley. The surrounding area offers much to amuse everyone with many low level walks close by. Chapel Stile is at the head of Langdale valley is one of the most popular in the lakes.
One popular easy walk follows the Langdale Valley on the left hand side walking through the fields and meadows to The Old Dungeon Ghyll pub.
The village has some facilities including a shop, a cafe and Wainwrights Inn serving bar meals. It is perfectly located as a quiet base for touring the central lakes in preference to the busier more obvious choice of Ambleside.
