Hardknott Roman Fort
Hardknott Roman Fort is near the Eskdale end of the Hardknott Pass. The Roman Fort was built between AD120 and AD138. It is situated on a spectacular site which overlooks the pass and forms part of the Roman road from Ravenglass to Ambleside and Brougham at Penrith.
