Helm Crag
height:
405m
More popularly known as 'The Lion and the Lamb' due to the profile of the rocks on the summit, as seen from the ground, Helm Crag is a popular and enjoyable mid level fell just north west of Grasmere village centre. It is a steep grassy ascent on a well prepared footpath which finishes on a little craggy section to reach the rocky outcrop on the summit. The views over Grasmere towards Loughrigg fell are the kinds of panorama which so inspired Wordsworth to write his famous peoms.
