Helvellyn

950m

One of the most popular fells in the Lake District mostly due to Striding edge, the arete on the eastern side approached from Glenridding. This route is an adventurous prospect as you need a head for heights as you walk along a rocky ridge which in places is no more than a metre wide with severe drops to either side. Helvellyn is also popular due to its size, being in the top 3 summits in Cumbria.
