Loughrigg Fell

Loughrigg Fell is a beatifully rounded peak with undulating approaches to the summit. It has an extraordinary view for a limited amount of effort. It is an ideal first fell since the routes are well defined and mainly prepared so limited navigation is required.

From the summit you will enjoy commanding views of Grasmere (lake) and Grasmere village, the Langdale Pikes and Rydal Water.

For those with plenty of energy why not start in Ambleside, go up Loughrigg, have lunch in Grasmere and return on the opposite side of the valley along the lovely footpath back to Ambleside via Rydal Hall. This is a wonderful day out.
