Skier reports massive avalanche in The How Gills
With plenty of snow having fallen on old icy snow the risk of Avalanche runs high in Scotland and as we have warned already, Cumbria too. I discovered via Twitter that indeed there has been at least one incident in the last week. Fortunately Noone was hurt.
"Last Sunday 10th January I set off an area of windslab the size of a football pitch and got carried down a slope for about 100m and then a further 100m down a gully in avalanche debris and was lucky not to be buried."
