The Old Dungeon Ghyll, Langdale
Very popular, I would say overly, and famous Lakeland pub set at the foot of impressive cliffs and the towering Langdale Pikes. Busy even in winter but a great atmosphere, good beer and reasonable pub grub style food. Get there early if you want a seat. Rub shoulders with crag rats (climbers) and hill walkers alike, expect open fires, stone floors and an earthy atmosphere.
