Rydal Caverns
Approached either from White Moss Common National Trust Car Park or Rydal, this pair of caverns within Loughrigg Fell are a fascinating place to visit, especially if you have children.
They are located above Rydal Water and provide an unusual vantage point of the lake. The caverns are the result of many years of quarrying in previous centuries. Looking from the upper cavern you can see accros to Fairfield and Wordsworths Rydal Mount.
