Whinlatter Pass
The Whinlatter Pass takes you from Braithwaite, near Keswick, through the Whinlatter Forest to High Lorton in Lorton Vale. The route can be combined with the Honister Pass to make one of the most impressive scenic drives in Cumbria taking in Crummock Water, Buttermere and Borrowdale.
The photo is taken from the view point looking over to Bassenthwaite Lake. The Whilatter Pass is a far less severe route than many of its counterparts such as Wrynose and Hardknot. It allows for the non fell walker to enjoy some excellent panoramic views of summits like Skiddaw, Lonscale Fell, Castlerigg Fell.
