Wind turbines evoke strong feelings both for and against. It would be interesting to encourage you to post your comments on this subject using the link at the foot of this post. Or vote on our poll about wind farms.

These highly visible wind turbines at Lambrigg have been part of the environment for some years now. Maybe we just accept them as inevitable? There have been several highly contested applications for wind farms in Cumbria in recent years. Friends of Rural Cumbria's Environment have an excellent web site helping interested individuals be aware of wind farm planning applications. On the other side of the argument is the Yes to Wind web site.

One thing is for certain, there will be more applications for bigger and more visible projects in the pipeline. We will try and keep you up to date with developments.
