The Woolpack have their own micro brewery serving a variety of excellent real ales. I can recommend a visit to this rather rustic pub purely on the basis of the beer. Having enjoyed a thoroughly demanding day on the mountains and tempted by a promising menu I was dissapointed by the meal.

The Woolpack have attempted to move away from traditionally pleasers like Cumberland sausage and mash to more 'creative' dishes like Lamb Dolce and Lakeland Char. The results were well below par, with plenty of comeptition out there, I will not be making a repeat visit.
